I'm 16 and got into a car accident yesterday....?

I was leaving work and I just got my temporary license yesterday that's good for 20 days until the real one comes in the mail. I was pulling out and I hit a van and it busted a headlight and every thing. I saw the van coming but the van was pretty far back and my friend who listed himself as a witness because he saw it said that the van suddenly sped up and went flying and that's why we hit each other.. the sheriff didnt believe it and she got off fine but I got a ticket for failing to yield to oncoming traffic and I have a court date. They gave me my license back but when I go to court, will they take it? How much will the ticket be? And my parents are freaking out about the high insurance cost now.. any tips?
