How would the world be if the US and friends had not retaliated against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Think of it like this... If a guy walks up to you I says, "I want to kill you" and then puches you in the face and you do nothing to defend yourself he is going to keep hitting you till you die or stop him.
