Roommate problems. Please help, i just want a listening ear.?

I am a junior in college who has a roommate that's in a Fraternity and plays football. Last Wednesday night, I was in the room with a female and my roommate came in the room with his football friend being loud. So me and the female left. I didn't see my roommate for the rest of that night or the next day so i sent a text message saying " Hey Man, the next time that I have someone in the room, expecially a female, I would appreciate it if you and your friend wouldn't come in being loud. " He didn't respond. I saw him Friday and he acted normal and communicating with me. But the following Sunday, he came in the room with the same friend that was loud and his friend said "I didn't appreciate the text you said (roommate's name), if you had a problem you should of said something right then....If you want to we can take this outside and fight". Then my roommate wanted to add to it by saying "i felt disrespected". He didn't talk to me, like a man, by himself. I felt pissed off by his bitchness and i felt tempted to go outside but i knew it wouldn't solve anything. So I decline. The next day, I walked outside the cafe and i saw my roommate and his friend talking to the rest of the football team and I saw his friend shadow boxing, as if he was showing off what he would have done. I feel regretful, theres alot of anger within me right now because of the cowards that exist in this world. What would you would have done? And how would you feel? And what do you suggest for my anger?
